Me and my love we recently went to one of Brussel’s most famous museums – Autoworld. I don’t know what the exact figures are for its annual attendance, but I assume they are impressive. Because who does not like cars apart from Greta Thunberg?
Before this visit, I attended a party that was held in the museum. Since it was a party I did not have a chance to go around and see the permanent exhibits. I saw one or two vehicles that I would like to examine a bit further and for a longer period of time, but they were not enticing enough to come back again and pay for a ticket.
Until a saw a poster advertising an expo. It was about Supercars – Road vs Race. I did a little googling and read that last year Autoworld already had an expo with the same title, and this is its second edition. It is not a carbon copy of the first one, but even better (if true I don’t know will have to take their word for it).
I asked my woman if she’d be interested to which she replied affirmatively.
My two cents would consist of: this expo is worth every penny if you are a car enthusiast, a petrolhead. It has Ferraris, Porsche, and much more. Even though I enjoyed modern vehicles more than the retro ones, on both exhibition floors I saw something that grabbed my attention and made me wonder how would it feel to drive that particular vehicle.
This is going to be a series. I will share photos from the Autoworld Supercars 2 exhibition of cars that I very much liked. So that these pictures don’t sit only on my phone’s memory chip but also on the internet, on this website.
We will start with Audi. You already know my thoughts and experiences with Audi cars from articles here and here. If not, then please read them. If under any of the photos below, there is a text then it is from the expo, and content rights belong to the original owner of that excerpt.

This beautiful, silver Audi RS2 from 1995 was at the entrance of this expo. It has a 2226 cc – 1.5 turbo engine with 319 horsepower. 6-speed manual transmission with a maximum speed of 262 km/h that makes 0-100 in 5 seconds.

“Limited edition high-performance estate car, manufactured from March 1994 to July 1995. Designed as a joint venture between Audi AG and Porsche, based on Audi’s 80 Avant. It was Audi’s first RS vehicle. It used the most powerful version of Audi’s inline five-cylinder turbocharged engine. The RS2 has amassed a cult following worldwide.”

An Auto-Union 1000SP from 1965 with a 980 cc – 3 cylinder 2-stroke engine that produces 56 brake horsepower. It has a four-speed manual transmission with a top speed of 145 km/h.

One of the few retro vehicles that really caught my eye.

Who remembers Need For Speed Carbon? I do. Why? Because the main villain of the game drove this Audi R8. I still remember how I played that game and tried to beat it as soon as possible just to be able to virtually drive this car. In life, it is even more stunning.

A beautiful interior. Which is not a surprise for an Audi vehicle.

Manufactured from 2013 until 2015. Audi R8 AWD Quattro has an 8-cylinder V8 4163 cc engine with 430 brake horsepower. Top speed 303 km/h.

The beating heart of this magnificent beast.

A true legend. A dream for Audi and rally fans alike.

Audi Sport Quattro from 1985. These spectacular machines were manufactured from 1984 until 1986. Only 214 were ever made.

The back of one of the most powerful rally cars ever built. Unfortunately, I did not photograph the plaque with its details.
Hats off to the owners of these lovely machines. Fingers crossed that I will get to drive or even own an R8 or an RS sometime soon.
Kind regards,
Olaaf
