My two previous articles on ROAMER and SEIKO were written about my own two watches that I love and cherish. This post is about my friend’s watch. You could say that because of seeing his watch in person and being able to feel, touch and admire it, I began to want a skeletonized watch of my own. And as you, hopefully, already know these thoughts were sent to the heavens and I ended up with a skeleton of my own (fingers crossed it will happen with a Speedmaster as well).
<!– NB! I think that I should mention this, I don’t strive to become the next watch blogger. There already is an abundance of them. And since my background is not in journalism I do not pretend to be a journalist of the highest caliber with perfect written English. Having said that, I do appreciate feedback if there is any with regard to my posts/language/style. I strive to become better and with your feedback, I may. –>

Comment from Tissot about their watch: “The Tissot T-Complication Squelette is modernity meeting meticulous craftsmanship with this hand-wound, mechanical skeleton movement visible through the dial. Luxurious finishes and design details seamlessly link tradition with contemporary styling for wearers who appreciate the complexity of a superb timepiece.”
It is beautiful, right? I could say roughly the same thing that I said when describing my feelings towards my own Roamer. I just like to look at this watch. I like to observe how the movement works, how it ticks and sounds, moves, and lives. It is just simply beautiful. No wonder I fell in love with skeleton watches.
You know before this website I thought that I could easily talk about watches. It seemed not complicated – I have managed to gather a lot of books about watches, I listen to watch-themed podcasts and I have subscribed to plenty of watch-related Youtube channels. So I was under the impression that speaking about a topic that is dear and important to me would be easy. Also, I did not have someone to talk to about watches, apart from my lovely girlfriend, but then again I spoke to her in Latvian. Speaking in English about a specific topic is a bit more complicated (to say the least).
Recently I found out that I have a colleague who is also passionate about watches. I real watch collector with a beautiful diamond dial Daytona and much more (that Daytona was the very first Rolex, the very first Rolex Daytona watch that I got to actually touch and examine). So when we started to talk about watches – I did not know what to say apart from the usual questions. Will it come from experience talking and putting my thoughts on paper (*screen)? Hopefully. But one thing is for sure, I do love watches. May 2023 can’t come soon enough.
Kind regards,
Olaaf
